"The Elisabeth House" : with both a Courtyard and balcony-- AND back cottage (PLEASE inquire-if requesting the annex cottage) A very LARGE property! Beautiful Victorian "Dollhouse", once atop a French plantation owned by the French crown in the early 1700's and then built in 1894. It maintains an ambiance of Old-World Europe and French Country, whilst being just minutes from the French Quarter, but also a nice oasis. Filled with charming decor of a by gone era. Feel like a prince or a princess in this Aristocratically styled home. Please note: The house can be rented as either a 6 BR's /2BA or 3 BR/2BA, the downstairs/main house is a spacious 2500 sq ft in and of itself with a newly added annex cottage in the back and upstairs apt with an add'l full bath and Queen bed. But, please contact me on the details and size of your group. Please inquire for larger groups. There are 10 beds, 2 sofas, 2 floor mattresses and 1 air mattress.. Ghost Tours nearby at the cemeteries & Mortuary is across the street, local pubs nearby, three coffee shops within walking distance, Cafe Du Monde in the park nearby and Morning Call, both with 24-hour beignets and French Coffee! Restaurants, grocery, City Park, the New Orleans Museum of Art and of course the French Quarter, only minutes away.

Summary: We loved staying in this vintage home with a charming Victorian-style décor. The Mid-City location really could not be beat, and the on-street parking was very helpful as we came and went. When we didn’t want to drive, the streetcar right out front was fun as always, and made it simple to go to the French Quarter or restaurants in the area. We had a large group so we rented both floors (reachable by both outside and inside stairs through separate entrances, so very private). Both were clean and well-appointed for our guests. We didn’t cook or use some of the appliances, so we can’t comment on those, but the little treats (fresh flowers, small goodies, sound machines, etc.), coffee maker and supplies (abundant toilet paper and paper towels, which we replaced) were very nice and most welcome. Communication with the host was great both before and during our trip. We would stay here again when in New Orleans.
